wait for the roadshow!
So the latest "Letter form the Chairman" just plopped in my email in box. Apparently "social media" is good when the MEC can use it, but not when anyone has a dissenting viewpoint. Shutting down the FB page when the TA was being discussed not make perfect sense.
It also included this little nugget:
And the Delta pilots need the opportunity to consider this agreement without being inundated with simple, yet continuous falsehoods or attack.
So I guess the roadshows will be canceled too?

The hold back would be based on anticipated block hours needed for OE so time of assignment would not change the numbers. They can hold back 75% of their anticipated need.

Social media is a double edged sword.
Many live on these boards. The conversation usually go down one path with no dissent. Some may argue MEC comm is the same. Those are both fair assessments.
Just as a thought experiment, how valid would this board hold anyone's opinion who was a firm yes?
Would they be heard?
Would they be shunned, derided and told how stupid they were?
Would they be accused of being a DALPA plant?
Food for thought only.
The group on here claims they are being sold on a TA. I would submit that there is very little room for debate with all the screaming no.
Again, if anyone has any questions or concerns the reference TA and other materials are available on the dal.alpa.org contract pages.
Thanks.

A couple videos from another board to describe this corrupt MEC, the LEC reps who voted yes and those trying to sell this POS to the detriment of fellow pilots....and how those pilots feel.

Jumped on a 717 the other day as well being operated by an ATL crew. FO was new and kept is mouth shut but the capt loved the pay rates. When I brought up FO's giving up flying for OE trips he response was it didn't effect him. I did point out a chunk of the raise was self funded, the changes to our JV and that we are basically headed towards being a small airplane doestic airline so I hoped he really like the 717. That got his attention.......
Also I take "jumpseat wisdom" with a grain of salt, ever since back around 2000 we had a jumpseater upset about RJs trying to convince us that every flight from ATL less than 500 miles would be flown by RJs within five years.
That would include from ATL to TPA, MCO, BNA, JAX.
Didn't quite happen that way did it? (and yes we have had and do have too many RJs in the system)

Sailing, if this is true, why did the company push for it in the TA? When you look at the individual concessions in this thing they may not look that bad, but when you look at them in aggregate, it is a huge hit on our QOL. That is enough to make this an easy no, but when you take a glance at the sick leave portion, it's enough to make you puke. This is a giant overreach by the company, which is expected, but the blatant sell out by the very people who are supposed to represent our interests is disgusting.

The numbers should be proportional except a domestic category would generally have a lower percentage of LCA's because you don't have the higher manning needed to cover the larger number of FO's for 3 man ops. I posted those numbers because they answered the phone this morning. Call and get the numbers for other categories and post them.
