First of all that would be illegal today, and not just because of 117. It became illegal I think in the late 90's even prior to Whitlow. Some amount of long call helps the company because if everyone is on SC every day, then even if you stagger it perfectly, you have very few crews actually legal to do most trips as they come up. Of course they'd love a 10 hour long call better than 12 if we'd give it to them. We briefly got 13 on paper, but immediately gave it back to 12.
With 6 SC's and 7 when they need it most, and 2 seperate bucket systems, the company rarely if ever is in a position to actually need and benefit from more than that.
Plus that whole pattern bargaining thing. We're not the only ones with a long call system and its not like its unreasonable.

If it puts more money in my pocket, I'll take cost neutral (to the company) all day long and twice on Sunday. Sorry that isn't good enough for you. Maybe you should practice a little financial responsibility and discipline. You have a retirement guaranteed to be paid for by the rest of us. yup... can't wait to see your argument to THAT. If you had any smarts, you wouldn't need this job.

Just heard some news from a very connected fellow voyager. Contract 2015 is going to be a battle, the company is seriously looking at pay banding and they want relief in that we are supposedly the least productive pilot group. Please don't shoot the messenger but this is a very reliable source. I am retiring very soon and will not be involved at all in the contract 2015 fun and games other than becoming a APC lurker. Good luck to everybody and stay united in the upcoming fight.

Regarding the news, it sounds like what one guy has been saying and subsequently getting ridiculed for by some of the protect the union at all cost guys. C2012 didn't do us any favors setting up for C2015. Each of us individually and the whole group collectively should prepare for a tough fight. Let's not roll over this time.

We're very productive, especially considering the company chooses to have the least productive fleet mix in the industry. They get a revenue premium from that however, which is a small part of why we are a very high revenue per pilot group. They say productivity per pilot, we say revenue per pilot.
Case closed.
I don't think they really want banding as a means to an end. What they really want are longer freezes and FAR117 undoing soft changes like block time starting at wheel spin up and other schemes. Other than that, we don't have very much "productivity" left to give. Not to mention they could get massive increased productivity by simplifying fleet types anytime they want to. That is and always has been their choice.

We're not going to fall for it though. Even if we're told to fall for it, we're not going to fall for it.

You mean an FCR?
I know the FO FCRs evidently go in the trash. I came out of one of our hotels in Ohio, went two blocks down the wrong street and realized I made a massive mistake. I went back and researched the crime stats from the local police, shocked at what I saw I wrote it up but never heard anything.
I thought they at least read the Captain's FCRs but evidently not, he told me his picture of a drug deal outside of the same hotel was ignored. We still stay there.
Now I just think it's funny.

In my experience the hotel committee has been very responsive to FCRs and is doing a great job, I thank them for their work.
