Everytime the DPA dies, the DALPA knuckleheads revive it with their arrogant buffoonery. I haven't submitted a DPA card yet and wasn't planning on doing so. I figured there are a lot of new people in DALPA since C2012, a stronger commitment to communication, a more democratic leaning. Ugh, it did nothing to change their addiction to constructive engagement at any cost. If this TA passes the MEC today and is sent out for Memrat, it will prove to me that ALPA is institutionally incapable of changing. My DPA card will go in within the hour.

forgot to bid, that's what I thought! Holy hard sell! This TA is unacceptable.
I'm a habitual yes voter. Yet, I'd keep the current contract.
Mike Donatelli's focus seems to center on pay rates, to the exclusion of EVERYTHING ELSE. The Devil is in the details. This TA is riddled with gross, unnecessary concessions. He doesn't seem to get it.
-Sick Leave concessions
-Joint Venture concessions
-Scope concessions
-Profit Sharing concessions
-Productivity concessions
-Does not address re-route limitations (ie premium pay)
-Drops a bomb on FO's (LCA robbing your already scary bid package)
-Attempts to pass off a .25% raise as 6%
-No increase in vacation weeks
-Paltry, almost insulting, increase in per diem
-Comes in the face of a 5B stock buyback
-There's more, but I'm getting angry again
This is not what we asked for, Mr. Donatelli. Sometimes you have to stand your ground. No contract is better than a concessionary one. Yes, it IS concessionary. And, no, I'm not referring to the underwhelming raises.
The Devil is in the "other" things.

This TA, and ALPA's giddiness about the pay rates, is like burning all your furniture in the winter and excitedly telling your guests how warm it is in your house.
I know I keep beating this drum, but I think that it is VITALLY important for FOs to know exactly what the withholding of trips is all about. 2/3s of the guys I talked to yesterday had no idea.

Certainly not an emotional response like sending in DPA cards. good grief. But I am sure that has a lot of people quaking in their boots.
Let the process work (hopefully) If we don't get the product we think we should have then reps need to be recalled and all that stuff. I think it would be an enormous mistake to go independent. For example: You think dpa could deliver a scope clause like swa? Seriously? (I don't think they are going to be able to keep the one they have either btw) You and I better get our resumes dusted off if dpa were successful though, and at least you better get used to the idea of being in a mad dog right seat.. Or C2K + inflation? On day 1? rotflmao. All puff and no substance is what it is.
