Details on Delta TA
#6871
I guess the is mostly addressed to the P2P guys on here that are trying to explain some complex issues.
First, I appreciate your efforts. I'm not one of they guys who think you're spies or have other agendas and like I said I appreciate your efforts at education.
There are a lot of "old heads" for lack of a better word, who have been on here since the merger contract and SLI discussion. We come and go (I just came off a 6 month break to get my mind right) and its great to see the old heads perspective.
With that said, since I know your in contact with some of our senior leadership, I need to say the following and please take it back to them.............There are lots of the moderates that don't come on here much anymore that think this contract is a mistake. I point to myself, Denny Crane, shoot even CogF16 who I haven't seen on here in years.
I'll tell ya, we're the swing voters (most of us voted yes last time) you need and trust me........we're underwhelmed!
Food for thought,
Your Uncle Ferd

"HIPAA laws only apply to "covered entities." Delta is not so YOU can give them any information you want to or the contract REQUIRES you to. What Delta can't do is get your records directly from your healh provider as they are a "covered entity." HIPAA does not apply to Delta at all."
Care to interpret what that means in practical terms?

Ferd,
I'll give you all of that. I shared your underwhelming sentiment when the details first started leaking out. I still have some large concerns...most notably:
- 23G5; I want more clarification on this. From my perspective this is the biggest negative of the entire deal. I DO NOT like that trips are being pulled during the PBS run.
- Sick; I want more clarification on the form 8500 issue. Other than that I don't really GAS because I don't call in sick unless I'm sick. If they want me to verify every once in awhile, so be it. The upside of an LTD bank for some of my unused time is offsets that to an extent for me.
- JV compliance; I want more clarification on the difference between EASK's and BH's. My general feeling when they were talking about it at the meeting today in detail was "that's not so bad", but I want to be able to explain it to a kindergartner before I'm totally comfy with it.
Those are the biggies for me. TLV to 81 comes with RCC language in our favor or it snaps back to 80. There are several other items that I want to explore in further detail, but after watching the whole show today it is not the horrific deal that some are painting on here. It still remains to be seen if the MEC will even send it out. More details are forthcoming, and once I saw the rationale behind the decisions I have to say I could argue it either way.
Tomorrow should be interesting. I'm not sure they will even get to a vote by the end of the day, given the pace today, but I'd rather the reps take their time and get it right.

I've noticed a phrase being parroted by Olmsted and the legion of Moak. "The pilots deserve a chance to vote on this!"
I hate to keep bringing this up but there is no check/balance on vote count/tampering. If they get it to a vote they can just as well create the numbers they want.

I'm in disbelief as well. In the best negotiating environment of the century we got a TA that is worse than the current contract. I'm in total disbelief right now. Speechless.

Only reduces profit sharing in 2016... AND BEYOND. That is a 10% savings to the company on the difference. The difference is 3.5 billion, therefore, the company saves 350 million in profit sharing to the employee group. ( do you see how this is cost neutral yet?) Sure the pilots share is a third or 117 million but along with all these other goodies this is cost neutral!

That total 12 months past the amendable date will be somewhere in the 450 million range.
