I think even some of the most ardent ALPA supporters are thinking it may be time to give DPA a chance if these numbers/concessions are true. Can't get much worse. I think people are fed up with the lack of transparency and ALPA dancing at managements whim.

That is strange. But the chitchat site is strange, too. A small number of unhinged wackos have hijacked all civilized discussion over there, making it really toxic. Every thread gets run over by the same five DPA guys. There are also some worrisome anonymous accounts over there.
I think that APC has a better chance of hosting an objective exchange of ideas.
Keep it about the issues, we still have to fly with each other.

Don't bother signing up for an account over there of you haven't done so already. Much better debate here and there are only 3 unhinged wackos over here to deal with, right rube. You learn all this in the 3 weeks you've had an account here? Oh, scary stuff too. There are "worrisome anonymous accounts over there."
Really? So, rube, is that your real name? Should we call you Mr. Rube? Or perhaps is it Capt. Rube? You have a first name to go with that Rube?

7/3/3/3 isn't even as good as our last contract. That's pathetic when the company is making billions.

[QUOTE=Check Essential;1895866]Here's a random thought:
The MEC is obviously divided on the merits of this agreement.
I hate to see our union go through this divisive exercise. We need unity.
There might be a way to get a 19-0 vote.
ALPA is always accused of mounting a "sales job".
Whether you agree or not, a lot of pilots perceive that as somehow unfair.
That sales ritual is the source of nearly all the acrimony and divisiveness.
One option would be to simply empower the rank and file:
Send it out without the MEC formally recommending a yes or no vote.
Let the line pilots read it and decide for themselves.
Individual ALPA officials can opine to their hearts content.
Just refrain from activating the "machine" this time.
Small "d" democracy. Writ large.[/QUOTE
Or the MEC can man up and do their job.
They can deliver the historic C2015 they promised in True Headings 14-2.
I missed the part where MD said today is a grand day, a historic day. Your MEC delivered on its promise and seized this once in a lifetime opportunity.

On-sided? Are you SURE?
Every single thread gets hijacked by the same people.
I think the moderator is trying to manage an impossible situation, and vindicating the Delta MEC's unanimous decision to shut down their version of Hangar Talk. I never claimed, nor do I believe, that the current moderator of chitchat is supportive of DPA.
It's more like a 5-2 furball. And it's high school. The wackaloons over there would get banned in a week from APC.

We are always shocked at how small the raises are. Alpa will explain time value of money and tell us how this is the best offer we are going to get. There will be yelling in the crew rooms just like last time. It will pass just like it always does. It's the same thing everytime. I'm a no vote as always.
Several months ago, You were jumped on and vilified for saying you weren't going to waste your time for filling out a contract survey and that you were probably a no vote because the TA would suck, etc.
I'm on the record as having a TA with Hockey. If it sucks and if it's concessionary. Hockey was right all along.

People care less and less who is the interim president at DPA (there would be a popular vote to decide a new president). They want to remove the organization that stands in the way of restoring this profession. A union for Delta pilots that represents Delta pilots sounds pretty good about now. No more secret handshakes.

Agreed!!! I use to be an avid participant on the DALPA boards but grew very weary of the same knuckleheads(on both sides) hijacking the threads with the same tired old crap. So I left. Went to chit chat forum for literally 10 minutes and quit that. I get my fix on here, especially during contract times. My life is fuller with all the spare time!
