Just spit balling, but it might be because he is a dedicate and competent Delta pilot that was asked if he would do the work and is willing to do the work. He must be highly regarded by the MEC, he got elected Merger Committee Chairman. The Boston Meeting Minutes indicate a unanimous vote.
Vote for Captain Richard Harwood for Chairman of the Merger Committee (19 Votes)
He was also confirmed by the MEC as Strategic Planning Chairman.

I know that some people find it no problem to usurp the pilot group's rights and responsibilities, but in fact it is the DELTA PILOTS who are tasked with judging any hypothetical agreement that is reached. And it's the DELTA PILOTS who elect the reps that would be responsible for delivering it.
Based on the last few weeks of APC, you would think we have system-wide reps election for local reps ongoing, and that a TA is available for "memory rat", but neither of those things is true.
The pilots decide, the pilots elect. Let's remember that.

LCA bidding...Delta will still buy the trips they need and guys will still be paid to stay home but it might not be biddable (if true) which only helps a few senior guys in reality. If it is true it sounds more like when MAC charter flying went into PCS for all of us instead of the Bubbas doing it all with a late night call from you favorite scheduler. Delta will still have to buy guys off trips for training like they do today.

If the vote has turned to 11-8 in favor of these concessions then it means the MSP FO rep has gone to the majority. I was told by a MEC insider that the swing votes were ATL FO rep DN, the ATL training rep, one other I have forgotten and that the MSP FO rep was a possibility. Evidently at the previous MEC meeting he would not talk to the MSP Capt rep and was asking the ATL reps for "direction"
Before anyone goes off on me I have been and continue to support ALPA. I think we can still make a difference and I will be at the MSP LEC meeting on June 1. However if these concessions are true and we are sent a concessionary TA I will vote NO. If the TA fails memrat I will be willing to work to recall any rep in my LEC who votes for the concessions. If we reach a TA and it passes well than the majority will have spoken.
These are unprecedented times and we all need to be involved.

I'm glad you're on the front lines to protect the "unsuspecting and trusting". Thank you for your service to the pilot group. What would we do without your loaded opinions and conspiracy theories?
Your perception of your fellow pilots is sad (for you). Thankfully it's not reality!

It takes all kinds of people to run this process. My opinion is valid and I do not trust people so easily. Maybe you should step back too.

If what you wrote above happens you should head over to kinkos and make 1000 DPA cards to pass out. The difference between your idea and mine is: mine might actually change something.
