Details on Delta TA

It appears that you are concerned about possible concessions in C2015. That's legit but when you don't mention who is saying what you write and don't even explain the concessions you are talking about it is hard to take your posts seriously.
So there is something that you are saying that is worth $100,000? I'm like money. I'm listening.

As we all know for each penny the price of jet fuel falls, it adds $40 million to Delta's bottom line.
The price of jet fuel was $3.22 in February 2013
It is now $2.68.
At Delta we pay .14 cents less because of the refinery. $2.54.
That is a decrease of 68 cents.
68 x $40 million equals $2.72 BILLION annually.
As always the Saudis refuse to reduce oil production and WTI is in a free fall. It will go much, much lower.
This year we will make well over $1 billion in bag fees and well over another $1 billion in ticket change fees.
Don't ever let DALPA tell you we can't restore our contract or we must make concessions.
Management will try to sell another cost neutral concessionary deal. The inside players King fired are all still in place. They call 100% of the shots.
They must meet a brick wall.
We simply want to share in the success we created. Our concessions are not longer needed.
Our executives compensation is up 300% to 700% since Chapter 11. Let's not let them talk from both sides of their mouths. We don't want or need a 700% increase.
We want our sacrifices and investment to be recognized and rewarded.

Monthly Minimums.
I was at a PUB event for POS2012. I specifically asked about this issue because I love low time. I was told that at that time the Company wasn't interested in expending any negotiating capital for this item. They said that there were few pilots interested in low time.
Perhaps things have changed in the intervening period. I will tell you that it is my dream to get to my last five years and fly no more than 30-35 hours each month. This way I get insurance and benefits with minimal effort. I must assume that I am not the only one with this plan.
I think this is what the Company is considering.

My understanding is we have a great deal of pilots who fly low or not at all and management hates this.
I've never checked, do we have a monthly minimum to retain benefits?
The FAs do.

We do not have a minimum. The FAs have a minimum, but I believe it's a 3 month minimum, i.e. They have to fly a minimum of X hours every 3 months. I think x is 45 hours, but not sure.

Those pilots are called, "777/747 Reserve Pilots" and yes, the company would LOVE to get rid of them, or at least have them flying 85/mo.!

Never forget, Management's JOB is to always get the most, for the least.
They want us to do the most flying, for the least pay/benefits, i.e. become "More Efficient".
But DALPA's JOB is to PROTECT our JOBS, and make sure we are getting paid the MOST, for the least amount of 'work'.
The bankruptcy and now profit sharing, stock price, etc. seems to have changed DALPA's (and many pilot's) mind set. They now seem to want to do Management's job for them, and make us "More Efficient" vs. protecting (and restoring) OUR PAY AND BENEFITS!
From the top of ALPA National on down to our MEC level, they seem to have forgotten that they are 'blue collar' worker bees, not Management Wonks, and they seem to have forgotten WHO they are supposed to be representing.
The line pilots see this too, and that's why so few have bothered to spend the time to fill out the surveys.
The attitude on the line is, "Look how much good it did last time..."

You are indeed not alone in that plan.
Flight ops put out a number a year ago at a road show, (don't remember it exactly) that in 2017 there will be 3800 Delta pilots will be between 60 and 65.
Imagine if they all have your plan.
Beware the monthly minimum.

Couldn't the company stop this practice by simply staffing closer to the min staffing formula? They choose how many pilots are in each category. If they forced pilots who drop flying to fly more it would just mean reserves fly more. What's the difference between a line holder who doesn't fly and a reserve who doesn't fly? I'm not seeing the motivation unless it's "that doesn't seem right", which might be the case.

The difference between a reserve guy 'not flying' and a line holder doing the same is, the reserve guy is still being paid the monthly reserve min, vs. the line holder who is only being paid what he actually flies.
