Not necessarily. Some of your move up is because you're an FO on the Angry Pup. Many FOs AE out of it to 73N or 320, etc.
The hiring plan is based off projected retirements and growth.
I hate to admit it, but I agree with Sailingfun on this one!

Well, I meant total seniority wise been moving 30+ numbers each month so that is a decent number and will only continue to increase as we all know.

I was blown away by moving up 33 numbers on the March 1 list. (I'm just below the 80th percentile line)
Beginning of the retirement wave. Anyone hired in this last couple years (or the next couple) needs to hold onto their board; it's going to be a wild ride.

We lose a large number of pilots each year for other then age 65 retirement. I did not come up with the 600 number. That is the number the company put out. If you look at the last two years actual retirements verses age 65 it looks like a accurate number.

From what I've heard, for every guy that goes at 65, there is almost 1 more that leaves a little early. I hope to leave early if I can swing it but still have a ways to go.

Right, but eventually it all comes out in the wash. For every guy that retires early, there is a guy who won't retire in the scheduled year. So its not like it'll always be double. We're finally just now recovering from the stagnation effects of age 65, and the recovery won't be fully realized until the peak numbers hit. But once they do, the numbers will get back to normal or very close to it.

But there are also people who have not been hired, and who themselves will have an early exit (death, disability, leave for another airline or just walk away). Some of it may come out in the wash, but yearly losses will never be exclusively just mandatory retirements.

Time shift the planned age 65 retirements about 2 years forward and you will find it ends up close to actual retirements.

I won't know what to do with myself if someday everything settles out and I don't move up 30-50 numbers in a month .
