Anything to do with the assumed to MEMRAT TA?

No, most of it was announced before the TA. All the airlines are reducing growth plans next year. They are in a panic to show a positive RASM so the stock prices will trend up and their options gain value.

But medium to long term, if they leave profitable flying on the table for endless growth mode LCC's to gobble up, they will ultimately make less profits. Blindly chasing short term RASM is B-School JV team theatrics. We just got done doing something similar for different reasons by delaying even meager hiring until the last possible second just to massage one quarter's numbers barely enough to move the needle and its straining us big time. Gifting the LCC's extra RASM to artificially preserve ours, when we'd be highly profitable either way, is very myopic thinking. This will result in many dozens of additional LCC narrow bodies flying against us going forward that otherwise wouldn't have been sustainable for them, while also opening some doors for foreign poachers even wider. All for small additional numbers for maybe a couple quarters.

Hey, we agree on something! Doesn't change what it is however.

Ha, am I that much of a rebellious contrarian?

I root for the home team too, and sometimes even sip the Kool Aid a bit. Although this one time I saw a guy without his hat on and I didn't even tell on him. But I'm a zealous defender of our Section 1 because that is the mother of all sections that controls who all the other sections apply to. I place [DALPA] jobs as our single highest priority, so that's not exactly anti-DALPA. I haven't ever sent in a DPA card. I give to the PAC. I've done a small amount of "extra" stuff; not even worthy of mention, but suffice it to say not one minute on FPL ever, nor one dollar on any expense account. Not implying that there are no legit uses of those of course. I was an initial soft yes on TA15 (for DALPA touted TVM!) until I actually read it, and then became a strong hard NO because of way too many concessions in light of insufficient gains to justify them.

On this TA I was a Moderate Yes WRT pay at first, but am highly skeptical on other issues embedded within it, so that makes me an on the fence maybe at this point. I will give a road show, continued discussion and rep interaction a chance before I make up my mind. I will not be distracted by the rates however, and I always contend that we absolutely must look at any and all language in any TA from the POV of a hostile current or future management team who will use it to its fullest potential if they choose to do so.

You mirror my thoughts gloopy (except I was F&%$ NO on TA15 as soon as I saw the highlights). I hope most of our pilots study the possible future effects of this TA as well. I really want to vote yes on this one, but I'm not done educating myself on all the detials....still on the fence.

Late Sept guy here. Guys from 26-28 of September should be the last ones for Nov28.

Looks like Dec should be from Sept 28/29 until Oct 6-10. I believe Nov 28 will be 60 people and Dec 5 class will be 40.

So my buddy interviewed this week and was told a January class at the earliest.

When you think that last January had classes filled with May interviewees this isn't a bad wait and you get the holidays off.
