It just depends. Drops and training in subsequent classes aren't always perfectly linear. However even though that range may look big, even 6 months is a microsecond compared to most pilots most of the time. Its a phenomenal time to get hired.

What are you trying to discern from the info? If your wife picks the 717 or 88 in either ATL or NYC, she'll be a line holder in 1 to 6 months, NYC running closer to 1 month. The question should be about commuting. Where do you live, are you willing to move, and how does she feel about crash pads?
