I have a couple of questions on non-reving. My wife and child are trying to go from CHS to MIA thru ATL. What happens if they do not get on their flight in ATL? Does the gate agent then list them for the next flight, and where would they be listed for that flight ( before or behind the next non-rev passengers)? Any help or advice would be appreciated. Thank you.
Also, if the Delta loads don't look great for some of the flights (ATL to FL can be a nightmare at certain times) I'd also consider a non-stop ZED on AA. I've noticed they have a couple of non-stops a day, and should be in the neighborhood of $50 nonstop... hard to beat that.

--->BE AWARE- ZED privileges don't begin for new employees for 6 months though. So if you're still very new don't count on that option. Down the road, it's solid advice.
Also, as mentioned in previous posts concerning your own travel you'll be able to Jumpseat on other airlines with your ID and take a CABIN seat immediately. If you getting a ride is dependent on you riding the actual Jumpseat, you won't be able to get on until they put your CASS information through. (Have heard anywhere from first week of Indoc to after your Checkride on that timeline)

Got the invite today for 23 May. Exactly 1 week of wading in the pool.
The offer is emailed to you and in the acceptance letter it asks if you have any commitments in the next 90 days. My sisters wedding is 16 days after I would be getting done with indoc which will put it either right before or right after the start of class (depending on how much of a wait I get). Has anyone put down a commitment on this sheet when turning it in? Does it mean they try and work with you or they just don't put you in that indoc class? I have a relatively low social (3) so I'm expecting 717 or 88 and I know that classes and thus wait times are dispersed according to social within your aircraft. The last thing I would want to do is get slipped 2 weeks to 6 June indoc...never know what will happen. Thanks for any input.

Just like picking airplanes, training schedules are done by seniority, too. The more junior you are the more likely you're wait for aircraft training will be longer. I say just put it on there and let them figure it out.

They'll try and work with you. Maybe make your sisters wedding during a 2 day break between sims or something and give you permission to positive space there. 2 folks in my class were talking to the training folks during indoc about the commitments (weddings) they put down. Didn't seem to be a big deal.

Best plan of attack to hold MSP?
Hey guys and gals,
I'm not counting my chickens before they're hatched. I have a hypothetical question. My interview is next week. If I were fortunate enough to be hired, what would you guys suggest as my best route to getting based in MSP ASAP? I have a young family and would love to be home (and near our immediate families) as much as possible. Is there a preferential type and base for me to commute from? Does anyone know an approximate time for a new hire to get to MSP? Just spit-balling here. Hope to be flying with you fine folks in the near future!
