Well....I guess I'll wait until Wed AM and call them if I haven't heard anything back from them. I didn't send in my wife's travel plans for the dinner because she's not going but I definitely sent my travel request in.
Thx, guys!

DAL Seat Lock etc.
Long time wallflower, but recently got the CJO and am super psyched!
I have a question for the DAL veterans in the room regarding initial plane selection and then follow on airplane selection after the one year seat lock:
My goal is to get to MSP sometime around the 2 year mark, but in the meantime my wife and I (no kids) are looking for some adventure and are groovy to be based anywhere and fly anything! Any particular airplane that is best for a new guy like me who wants fun trips and is not too concerned with being gone or on reserves for a little while? QOL for me will already be good because I'll be flying for DAL and we would love to live in New York, so if I'm on reserves for the year+ that we're in NYC I'm not overly concerned (am I crazy? let me know).
Back to MSP- I understand they have the 320, 88, and 7ER so I'm trying to figure out the dance that is necessary to set myself up to bid one of them around my 18-24 month timeframe in hopes of bidding MSP as a base. I'm learning a little bit about "AE's" and how they work, but is that the only way for pilots to transfer aircraft and/or bases? i.e. at the one year mark, if there is no AE does that mean I stay on my year one airplane, and at the 18-24 month mark, if there is no AE, does that mean I won't be able to bid MSP?
Also, how long are we locked into follow on airplanes?
Thanks in advance!

You are correct, there's no way of knowing how long it might be for an AE to be posted following your initial seat lock. However, they have been averaging one every 2-3 mos. for the past couple of years.
Your "normal" seat lock is 2 years with a few exceptions, like an initial upgrade or the opening of a new category.
Good luck, have fun! You'll enjoy it!

I've emailed twice, but haven't heard back. I think they should get to it the week prior- but I thought it was odd I didn't even get a "we got your request, standby"... just nothing. I hate being kept in suspense, for fear of getting lost in the sea of hundreds of new hires. If you don't hear by the thursday prior (like the logistics email says), I'd call the number listed.

For those that are ANG and still flying; how long did you go without flying your military airframe during training and was DAL okay with it as long as it didn't interfere with or interrupt training? They ask for 90 days but is there ability to fly with your unit during that time?
To answer your question: yes you can fly all you want while you are off the delta clock.
For all the ang/mil lurkers out there:
You will get sim schedule during indoc and that is practically etched in stone. Mil dropping at that point is really not an option unless "the balloon goes up" for real. Chances are you will get approximately 2-4 weeks off between indoc and sim training and can do some flying then (I did plenty to help pay the bills).
Tread very lightly with the mil drop thing. The delta mil liaison folks will stress at indoc that they want you to get through sim training, OE and consolidation (100 hours in type) before mil dropping.
Mil drop after that will be expected to be done prior to the delta schedule being complete for the next month. Mil drop can be accomplished after that but is not wise during probation. This will be covered in depth during indoc.
My Rec is to absolute min run reserve time first six months or so. You bros in the ang/res should support that.
