Interview suit day one of Indoc and for the dinner. Everything else is business casual. No jeans. Collared Button down or polo shirt. 5 shirts and 3 pants and you are gtg.
You will also have plenty of time to get the stuff you need. I bought most of it while in sim training.

Guys...I'm watching this thread go into the "holiday deployment despair." Keep your heads up. It's a good job. If you are "unfortunate" enough to be in the sims over the holidays, count yourself fortunate enough to be HERE over the holidays. There are many that aren't. If you came from the military, you've done the holiday deployments. It's no different out here. It is what it is. For what it's worth, I'm in my first 7 months with the company and I have the entire last 7 days of November off...on reserve. There's wins and there are losses. It depends on base, fleet and your seniority. It varies greatly. In the long run, it's a good job with a great company and I think you'll be happy. Don't sweat the small stuff while you're settling in. It will all work out in the end. Welcome aboard! Be happy and just try to relax and go with the flow. You'll be fine. Really. Welcome aboard!
Edit: I took a quick look at the sim schedules for the MD88. Currently they have no training scheduled from Wednesday 25 Nov afternoon until Friday midday. Before anyone gets to excited I don't know how new hires are scheduled. As of now however all the boxes are empty in the above time frame.

No one on this (recent) thread has be complaining about working the holiday. Thanks for all the info, advice and encouragement it has yielded perspective, and more importantly the ability to plan, which was the original goal. Now "planning" on 1-2 days off (yes less is fine, we all want to work).
See you at Denny's, or the airport vying for a few holiday seats.
