It all drowned me. When I went back to training, I took them all in for a second fitting and re-alteration. Still didn't fit right.

Had to get a local seamstress to alter the pants a third time.

My advice...Go to crew outfitters for the package deal. Get extra shirts online and extra black pants from Kohl's, JC Penny's, Macy, wherever. I'm still wearing my black patent leather uniform shoes I was issued in ROTC 25+ years ago. Work great and broken in. With about 1/4 inch of polish on them, I won't ever put polish on them again...just buff em out! Though, I will probably end up with Ropers eventually.
I hear you on the tailoring. But the overall construction and materials of the Abbott jacket seemed so much better to me than the other options, especially if you will be spending much time where it's cold.

Unless you are starting from scratch, the packages are probably more than what you need or need to spend.

Years ago there was a uniform tailor near the old CDC/AIC building who was popularly known as "Omar the Tentmaker".

Abbots makes a far better jacket. I'm a firm believer in getting flat front black pants to match the abbots jacket color from Kohls. Way cheaper and look sharper.

You can get out of a seat lock if a new category opens: an existing type goes to a new domicile or a new type arrives on property; or, if you are upgrading to a 1st time captain. As a side note, had the most recent TA been voted through new hires would have had a 2 year seat lock (with a few escape clauses). If I were a betting man I'd gamble that whenever TA-X is passed, it will have the same provision and pilots already on property probably won't spend any negotiating capital to make it go away.
The new number based on the last AE was 298 F/O's in ATL by May. The only way to get near that number is to get some New Hires into the mix. At least that's what I see. Also hope some of the "dead weight", I kid I kid, at the top goes on to be 777 F/O or switches to the left seat of the 717, since they can. That would provide some upward movement as well.

I am scheduled to complete Indoc a week before Thanksgiving. In the scenario I was schedule to Sim right after our 7 min days off would this happen on a holiday weekend? Big picture are people historically doing Sims during the holidays?

Abbots was awesome..Something happened to quality and customer service. $$$$

Crewoutfitters, great service. Crap (my experience) uniform. Literally, fell apart after a couple months. Jacket, pants. $$

I have been wearing Shark-Skin M&H. Jacket and Pants are still alive and looking well after 5 years. I forget her name (I think Arlene) but she used to work at crewoutfitters. She is now the manager of M&H near Spondivits and really goes out of her way to help a Delta guy.$$-$$$

Highly likely that it will happen, depending upon the student load for your fleet

Same boat 1 year ago. Started INDOC 3 Nov, had 7 days prior to starting training. Completed SIM training just prior to New Year. SIMs throughout the Holidays except for a couple days (Thanksgiving and X-mas) when all SIMs shut down.
