So with no construction going on anymore (assume it's done?), and the Compass Flow Up program complete (or nearly so?) we can assume that normal operations have started again (with a normal holiday slowdown)?

It's the normal summer slowdown it will pick up in Spetember.
There is construction at the training center it will pick up late fall.
Those darn contractual obligations with Compass and Endeavor will end soon then it will pick up.
It's the holidays that are slowing training which is normal.
So that is why there is an 8 month swim in the pool.
If you don't like it go to a different company unless you haven't been called to interview or you've received a TBNT email. (TIC)
Good luck out there swimmers. Seriously though if anyone knows if the training pipeline is opening up for the new hires like AK said would happen after the training center construction was finished please let us know.

They have to offer vacancies to people on the property before giving them out to new hires. There were a few 320 vacancies in the last AE and they were all snapped up. I would expect future classes to get 88, 717, with some 7er and 73n based on the staffing numbers they have been putting out in the monthly updates. If they don't get enough folks bidding into the 320 category, then new hires might see a few more.

No. I am referring to the pilots who realized they could get trained on the 717 in the summer of 2013 and then not fly at all for a few months because there were no airplanes on property. The DAL seat lock is normally 2 years, the new hire seat lock is 1 year. You can get out of a seat lock if a new category opens: an existing type goes to a new domicile or a new type arrives on property; or, if you are upgrading to a 1st time captain. As a side note, had the most recent TA been voted through new hires would have had a 2 year seat lock (with a few escape clauses). If I were a betting man I'd gamble that whenever TA-X is passed, it will have the same provision and pilots already on property probably won't spend any negotiating capital to make it go away.

The deliveries are 15 per year over 3 years. There has been a substantial change in the overall fleet plan since last spring. If you have Delta net there is a discussion about it under the SEA roadshows. The shift of DCI block hours to the mainline is coming to a end this winter. With the TA it was planned to continue that migration which would have required more pilots. The Skywest E175 order is the start of managements plan B.
The good news is even without the additional block hours hiring should be strong.
