NYC 320 will have a bunch of openings, don't let NYC scare you. I would be shocked if you can't hold DTW 320 by summer time.

I would be really surprised if there is any DTW available in this new hire class. Having said that you may want to consider bidding NYC or ATL 320 if offered so you can change bases. With the one year seat lock you have to stay on your aircraft the first year but you can switch bases. ATL 717 would work too but I think they are holding off on those slots till second quarter this year.

I was also thinking about the NYC 73.
Any opinion on the DTW growing it in the future?

I'd say that if you are wanting DTW, then bid the 717 (if any openings anywhere), then the 320, and lastly the 73N.
I've got almost 400 below me and I would be 1 from the bottom in DTW73N. They sent a lot of recalls to DTW73NB, so who knows, maybe they will bid off? For right now though, DTW73NB is fairly senior.

Dtw is going to grow the 73n category. Iirc, it's supposed to grow on the next bid. However, if you want to go to Dtw soonest, 717 would be my bet. Let the dust settle a little bit and bid 737 then...or not.

Interesting that we've heard everything from "You guys are at the front of the biggest wave we've seen in decades" to "Hopefully we'll see class dates." I suppose all the conjecture will be answered when the class dates start flowing and we get a sense of what it will really look like.

That's probably the smart play. A bonus is the 320 is hands down (IMO) the best airplane to fly out of those 3 choices. The 73N trips may be a little better, but the cockpit doesn't even begin to compare to the airbus. The 88 is.....well it's the 88

320: super comfy, iffy trips at best.
73N: fantastic trips. iffy cockpit at best.
MD-88/90: This guy designed it...
