Congrats. Its a great feeling. My indoc is Oct 20. I quit my previous airline 2 weeks ago. Using this brake to spend time with the family. Once things start, we will be at the bottom and my family dont expect to see me much for a while.
Welcome aboard! Exciting times for sure.

I did mine in Miami. I would guess about 20-30% of the new hires are still being sent to Miami for training. It was a great deal getting the hotel paid for(Homewood Suites....you get Hilton Honors Points as well). You also get 17 days worth of per diem....just under $500.

duder is correct as well....its only the last 2 weeks (300/400 series) of sim training that you would go to MIA for 717 training. Delta has 3 available sims for 717 training....1 in MIA and 2 in ATL.

Does anyone have a guess as to how long it will take to get from NYC 717 B to ATL? I have heard that ATL is overstaffed in that category.

I would think very quick. Even if its over staffed, its still growing and there's lots of movement.

You get the CJO on day 1. If you get through everything expect a class date about a month later.
Thanks for the info!

My class got 5 717s to NYC, 4 of us tried to bid out unsuccessfully (the 5th actually wants to be there). I'm not certain, but I am pretty sure all the folks who got NYC 737s were able to bid out, I even think I heard somebody got SLC but that was from overhearing another conversation out of context. Hopefully enough ATL and DTC based 717 guys will see opportunity to hold a line in NYC and move over to make room for me to go sit reserve in ATL. Either way it beats sitting at Bagram, which is where I'd be heading had I chose to stay in the USAF.
