DAL Poolie Info

Starting A320 training today as a new hire. Your fate lies in the last 4 of your SSN (higher=better), and each class drop is different. We were very lucky and had 14 non-88/717 planes in our drop, out of 30. But 3 years from now... who knows? We could all be dead from Ebola by then. Or zombies.

Just joined APC, and I'm still a long way out from applying (a little more than 3 yrs remaining on AD).
But in starting to think through the details, I became curious - do any new hires at DAL go right to 73/75/A3 series, or should one count on putting in time on the MDs/717s?
Can anyone who has recently started training share their experience? TIA.

Congrats! I heard a friend also got called for that class. He interviewed on 2 Sep, so it looks like its still trending about 2 months out for now.
I am a CJO the week of 9-11 Sep. At this point I am guessing all calls have gone out for the 3 Nov class. Regardless, I am hopeful that I might be in the next class, which is projected for 17 Nov.
Anyone else get called beyond a 2 Sep interview date for a class?

Thanks gents, good stuff. Had a mix of timing fortune and misfortune during the career, and I understand the role fate plays.
Yeah... counting my blessings there. If that ROE doesn't change, I would potentially be in good shape (last four is in mid 9000s).
Wow. Would have never have guessed that was possible. Hopefully he's happy with that!
Out of curiosity, how much time as a new hire do you have to make your choice once the drop occurs? Because each aircraft/base pairing has its own pros & cons WRT QOL, upgrade potential, etc., I imagine no one wants to make a snap decision. LOTS to consider. Of course, low man has the easiest choice...

You'll need to have your wish list in mind before you show up having already weighed the pros and cons.

Correct, at least partially. Newhires are getting the 7ER category which includes the 757-200, 757-300, 767-300 and 767-300ER. The 757 is not a widebody aircraft. The 767 is.

That is because you are never made "whole" for accepting the call. I had a friend who owned a software business and sat on a jury for almost a month. He lost tens of thousands of dollars from clients that he could not service the month he was gone and got paid like $15/day. He was treated like crap during the whole process and said he would do anything he could to get out if ever called again.
