This was in the pre-Waffle House, pre-liquor store era.
There was the "Country (BBQ) Kitchen" Malone's and Spondivits, all of which were closed on July 4.
And r.e. Baker, yes, but I wasn't on his good side!
Truthfully, I tried to avoid him as much as possible, his reputation being what it was, I doubt he knew who I was...luckily! I was not on his good or bad side.

You had to be a member of the "Winthrop Yacht Club" it made life easy in BOS. Shades of Mayor Curley. When the Country Kitchen burned down, it was the beginning of the end for Va. Ave. I would order eggs and country ham and she would bring me eggs and tomatoes..."low salt, honey." At one time there was a drive up window down the street for liquor, when all else was closed... Ahhh.. those were the days!

waiting for the indoc class date as well. I interviewed a day after you.
Hoping for October 20, but I have heard of people that have already got the call for the 20, which leads me to believe that maybe we are looking at the first class in November. If you find out otherwise please let us know.....

When you hear that offers are going out, you are leaving out an important piece of info. Are the Oct 20 offers going out to flows or to off-the-street hires? Right now 10/20 has only been offered to flows. OTS hires don't matter until about 30 days out when they actually start filling up that part of the class.
