Doable
I outprocessed in 4 days. Easy peasy! 10 is definitely doable.

best scenario is a 1 leg day with late report (commutable),worst day is 5 legs. I just saw a pairing out of DTW: DFW, BWI, LGA layovers. 4 day trip, average 2-3 legs a day. It does more RJ type flying than the 737, but youll get more senior faster.

I'd say that is extremely, unbelievably lucky. If you want the 320 by all means bid it. But I wouldn't bid anything in an attempt to duplicate those results. Even your buddy may not be able to do that again for quite a while, and even if he/she is, it could be that they caught the point in a category growing wave that people in the following class or later won't hit for a very long time. There is absolutely nothing about the Airbus that makes it a "weekends off are easy" kind of category. Your friend got extremely lucky. Their results are very likely not typical.

You might be suprised though. Just depends on the class. Whatever you want, be ready as the drops vary but some have a lot of variety and either way you often have to decide the first day or maybe two.

im in NJ, so im lucky in that the NYC base is guaranteed to go junior. the airbus sounds like a good deal for how fast theyre growing it (im told). I know a lot of people I interviewed with want ATL, so I think it will come down to base over equipment for them.

On a different note, I don't think Delta treats new hires as well as we should while you're in training. Training pay, no hotel, etc. Once out of your initial training, it is a whole different world. Welcome.

Questions for the crowd as I get ready to make my "pick" with a "0XXX" last four next month:
1) If my preferred base is DTW and the class drop ends up being all ATL & NYC, what would be the best combo to pick in order to switch to DTW, assuming the eqpt that I'm left with is based there?
2) If I end up with something such as ATL 88/90 but actually prefer NYC, how fast might I be able to switch from ATL to NYC?
3) What have the typical last picks/"leftovers" in the past few class drops actually been?
(And yes, I know just about everyone will think I'm crazy for preferring DTW/NYC over ATL...)

I don't understand. I posted on the Jetblue thread that if given a choice between the two, almost everyone would choose Delta. I was blasted in that thread. A 190 first officer even went far enough to say he wouldn't leave MCO reserve for any airline.

But I'm very happy with my decision, and that's the only right answer. Nobody can pay me enough to be miserable.

2) most of your Midwest and west coasters are gonna want ATL, so NYC should go very junior. I would be shocked if you get "forced" into ATL.
you are definitely not crazy! there are plenty of us who who live near or want NY
