Ha! Yes it is (but late '80's ) and you are correct. Just goes to show you that nothing is as it seems. Like I said, why press to test on probation?

What do they say about dropping mil leave during probbie status? I'm all for doing my time in the first year like everybody else, but I'm entertaining the idea of finding a Guard/Reserve job close to domicile which may come with training. Better to just wait or could you knock it out during probation/sitting reserve?

Thanks!

There was a guy in the new hire class ahead of me who went in to the presentation given by a uniform vendor to the class behind me. He berated the guy for not having his uniform order ready. Delta found out about it and called the new hire in. He was told to apologize in person to his class, the class he interrupted, and the uniform vendor. He apologized in person to the two classes but he called the vendor. He was let go........

Just sayin'.................

I believe that guy got hired by NWA. Ironic that he is probably back at Delta. Maybe someone else can confirm this.

I understood he was told to write a letter of apology to the vender. After 6 weeks had passed he was called in and asked if he had written that letter. He replied he had not gotten around to it yet. delta then presented him with a choice of two letters. Neither of them good. Moral of the story, don't interrupt a new hire class with foul language about the person giving a presentation and if you ignore that advise don't ignore the company when they tell you what to do.

Mil leave over a certain amount (30 days?) will extend your probation by the amount of mil leave you took.

While not prohibited...do you really want to :
-go through Delta training
-go through mil training
-try to remember Delta training/aircraft after returning to the line on probation?

And that guy should be fired for being a total A$$. That is completely different than a guy on probation doing everything he can to commute into NYC and missing a report. If you are a complete jerk to your co-workers you should be fired. I don't think anyone would debate that, although I've still never heard of anyone being let go for being a jerk. I'm sure there are some though.

Good luck!
I would either postpone the training, or go to training with the expectation of being on orders long enough to do a requal course when you return to Delta, if that makes any sense.
