Indeed. By September 2025 (11 years from now), we will have MANDATORILY retired over 6000 pilots, more than half our current seniority list. What does that say for the advancement potential of today's new-hire?
Small correction, sir.
If the early retirement numbers stay like 2013 you can expect a 3% early retirement rate. So that is about 38 early retirements over the next half decade and about 180 early over the next 11 years.
Just flew with line check captain who said at the line check meeting the early retirement subject came up several times and the general consensus was its to expensive to go early. Due to health insurance, lack of retirement and such.

It even says "affordable" in the name.
Reverse Mortgage > Getting Started
Reverse mortgage. You don't like that guy your daughter is marrying anyway? Why make him rich?

Yep. Despite all the APC rif-raf it is a great place to work and has gotten better every year since I was hired in 07. You newbies that are getting hired now will be able to hold a Captain seat in NYC within 7 years. That's faster than some of you upgraded at a regional. Enjoy the good times and hopefully they continue. If we could get RA to stick around another 30 years I think we would be set.
Actually, if we grow I expect NYC to get down to two years or so. We very nearly had 2007 hires make it to NYC 88 A before we merged. It got down to 13 or 14 with advanced preferences.

Wonder if 2000 hires might see a left seat somewhere on this last AE??

I know. You 2000 hires should be give an override for having the worst possible luck of any group of hires ever to be hired. Bad economy, 9/11, RJ's, Age 65, mergers. You guys have just had one kick after another....sorry man. I will say your group is a good group of guys and gals.
