Equipment Bid
There has been plenty of discussion on pairing construction by fleet type (i.e. 717 flies lots of legs vs 737 1-2 legs per day). Can anyone comment on the QOL differences that one might see in the various equipment types. I'm thinking in terms of days off per month, pairing length, and average reserve utilization. Thanks in advance.

Wait for the fleet drop in class and by that time you'll have access to DeltaNet and will be able to see schedules for all fleets in all bases.
One thing to keep in mind is choosing a fleet that is in the base you want to end up in as a base swap is easier than going through another training cycle.
Good Luck - Baja.

Rather simple...small planes fly many shorter legs a day and larger planes fly fewer longer legs. This is a generality as I have flown as many as 4 legs in the 757 in a day. Usually back and forth between Florida and ATL. All fleets have varying trip lengths from turns to 14 day Asia or Europe trips. Most narrow body max at 4-5 days and wide body (inc. 757/767) can go for 2 weeks. If you live in base and want to be home reserve isn't a bad place to be if your fleet is well staffed.

I did MSP-ATL briefly, you have to be on icrew at exactly noon at the exact window opening to reserve a jumpseat or it will be gone, and as a newhire you will be on reserve so you won't know your schedule that far in advance. I bid back to DTW as soon as I could. Haven't had many problems with MSP-DTW. There's a bunch of us doing that commute right now, but I still haven't had an issue getting on flights. Plus we have so many flights out of Atlanta, that often your trip will actually start or end with a DH to/from ATL, in which case you can book positive space.
