I think the whole mil / non-mil thing simply vanishes when you get on the line. Either you're a tool or you're not.

Probably more applicable during the interviews and while in training, until the CRM stuff kicks in for the fighter guys.

Anybody have any idea how much importance Delta places on recency of flight (i.e. flight hours in the last year, 2 years etc..)?
I actively fly and easily meet minimums but don't get tons of hours yearly like most full time military pilots do.
Thanks

It would be great to know how they score everything!! I'm in the same boat with total time. I have every box filled with SEFE, safety etc but all I have is like 1800 jet fighter TT. Granted its all PIC and IP it's still not that much.

This was passed on to me by a friend...

Many of you have asked when we'll start hiring pilots "off-the-street." We expect that our first indoctrination classes in November and December will be made up largely of furlough recall pilots. However, by early 2014, we anticipate we'll be screening pilots from Endeavor Air as part of the Streamlined Selection Process (SSP) agreement as well as pilots from off-the-street (approximately 400 Mesaba and Compass pilots have flow-up agreements and will not have to participate in initial screening as they flow up over the next few years). As the hiring plans become finalized, you'll be hearing more details. But for now remember that if you'd like to recommend someone for a pilot position at Delta, please do so via the airlineapps.com web site. For additional Pilot Selection information and updates you may reference the Pilot Selection web page on Delta Net.

These are exciting times for our company and Flight Operations. A large group of senior pilots will be retiring during the next five years, paving the way for a new generation of Delta pilots. With the preparation we're doing now, we'll be ready to proudly welcome pilot applicants to Delta's world headquarters in Atlanta.
