True but units will always need full timers to do the work. There always seems to be movement in the full time ranks.

Exactly. Classes on:
Jan 2
Jan 31
Feb 1
Feb 28th
March 1
March 31st
etc, would have half the flows and tons more off the streeters than one class per calendar month. Even if they skipped a calendar month, like say no classes in Feb, 2 Jan Classes and 2 March classes would still have the same number of classes as one monthly class from Jan to Apr, in the same time frame, with half the flows.

Amazing...Pilots concocting ways to navigate around an agreement. Actually not surprising. A contract is just a promise...my grandma say its a comfort to a fool....

It's funny to me that most non mil guys think when I/we mil leave we sit around and drink beer all day at the SQ with our bros. Give me a break. You try staying current on a military jet with 6 pages of currency items and an endless myriad of ancillary training that only seem to get longer by the day. Unless you have walked a mile in our shoes you have no room to judge. I chose to serve my country instead of chasing an airline job.
Between a family, a civilian job, and my/our mil commitments there is no way to make it all balance without mil leave unless you want to tell your family that 2 jobs come first and they can settle for what is left (nothing).
Funny I have never heard a CA at my 121 carrier say they love flying with a smurf jet driver over a mil type. Get off the "mil leave" types. You clearly have NO idea what you are talking about. Companies know what they are getting into when you hire USN/USAF/USN. Pilots and yet it doesn't stop them.
"But I flew Delta passengers." Who cares. I don't care if you flew POTUS. May the most qualified be called and hired. Hours does not equal experience. Being a Major regional carrier does not equal an "earned" interview/position." Get over yourself.

I get it, I'm a full time Tech in the ANG after doing 11 years on AD. Yes we are busy but I haven't read where bro's were calling us out. Just think if you were an airline hurting on pilots and trying to run your company you wouldn't want to hire the guy waiving his hand from the back row asking how soon can he drop mil leave. That's like being in a sq and the dudes shows up right out of RTU before doing his initial checkout but is already asking to take 30 days of leave. Yes they are entitled to it but is it smart, no.
I read what your saying but I don't think anyone was calling is out, just forewarning us.
Cheers.

Well while the RJ guys and the Mil guys argue over who deserves a slot the most....for those of you who DO get the nod here's a tidbit: Bring your A game to training on day 1. They have figured out how to squeeze the training a little further (shorten it). There will no longer be a week of systems review before taking the Oral aka Electronics Systems Validation. You will now take the ESV on day 2 of training after 1 day of review. Being new to an a/c and new to a company at the same time is not a good combo when "self-teaching". Advice (I just took the 737 esv today). Memorize verbatim the LOD (Learning Objective Document), memorize every question on the Practice ESV CD....and that's not enough. Hit the Volume 2 and FCTM well enough to be able to quote chapter and verse for different systems. I already flew the 800 for 2 years, 3 years ago....and couldn't fathom taking the ESV on day 2. I think it's going to backfire on the training dept and there will be casualties along the way until they rebuild the wheel again.
