How long ago was this? Today, I find this tough to believe. Wouldn't that be an automatic loss in a discriminatory hiring practices lawsuit?

Shoot, if they're going to be discriminatory, might as well go all the way... and add the caveat that the number is only given out to women who are hot nymphos.

So I've heard that when a pilot applicant has an internal pilot recommendation, his application is pulled from the pile and scored. Is this true? Does it make a difference if one of your recommendations is the Chief Pilot of one of the Delta bases? What would a recruiter do if one of the applicant's recs was a Chief Pilot?

In order for an application to get manually scored an applicant has to have an internal employee send an email to the Pilot Selection team. Direction are found on DeltaNet.

It would be good to have a recommendation from a Delta Chief Pilot but applicants are called in to interview based on their application score.

A little background for those wondering, heading to class 8/8 - many thanks to Delta for giving this guy a chance. Excited to join up & learn!

121 regional captain
5,500+ TPIC
Former Chief Pilot 141 Flight School
Volunteer at same organization for 9 years
Suboptimal college GPA
5 speeding tickets (wasn't asked about)
2 part 61 checkride failures
Former pilot rep at current shop
Small business owner
2 internal recs

For those with lots of time and worried about potential black marks on your resume don't give up. Own your mistakes, hide nothing and you'll have your chance before you know it.

If your app is pulled and scored internally, but doesn't have the required score, is your app placed on freeze for 1 year?

what exactly is being graded when delta looks at your app? I know they want it to be very clean/neat, do they grade how many number of LOR you have on file? I know United was something like 15 LOR, does the same stand for delta?
