I can understand to an extent why, especially when we had CJOs waiting 200+ days to get on property and our competitors have better pay and work rules. And apparently Delta is trying to get them as quickly as possible because they've drained the pool and want CJOs to get in class around two weeks after the interview. Which makes me wonder if AirlineApps needs to tweak their software, cuz the fact that FedEx, SWA, and United are getting an invite out to these guys within two weeks of their app being submitted while Delta dithers doesn't add up. To each their own I guess. For one of these guys Delta is an afterthought so it's not a big deal to him, and in fact he's not even concerned about it. I'm just wondering why D hasn't shown interest while these other competitors are chomping at the bit to get him on board. No big deal.
Straight from SD at the roadshow. Not second or third hand. The company had expected to start hiring from the tier 2 pool this summer. Instead the Tier one pool has been replenishing itself with new applicants as fast as the hire them out. He called it a pleasant surprise.

SD has talked out of both sides of his mouth concerning every aspect of this operation. Case in point, 330 crew rest facility is NOT a safety issue. Grain of salt his quotes.

Yet strangely enough virtually everything they have put out since 2012 has been spot on accurate. What would be his point in making that statement and lying? I have been trying to get a bunch of guys interviews. Military and part 121 experience. All over 4500 hours mostly turbojet with masters degrees. Two from the zoo. No luck. They don't seem to be hurting in the least for good applicants.

What would you expect him to say?

"Yeah, well we're hiring folks from the lower pool. Not as good as we'd like but they'll have to do."

SD sits across the table during these negotiations. His position is what "Ask Ed" tells him to say. They'd hire graduates from the Shanghai Flight Academy for pennies if they could. Holy cow, you did union work?

From my TAC airlift days: Go ugly early, if they don't meet your standards, lower your standards!

I'm in no way questioning new hires quals. I would expect them to be outstanding considering the hiring process. Simply pointing out that some have left for what they consider a better career. Going to Fedex would be an above average in headwork.
