Yikes. While that's closer to the historic rate long term, its way below what we've been seeing recently. Hope its an anomaly. If they're running smaller classes for a while to catch up on the pipeline as rumored, I'd hope they wouldn't take it out on the interviewees. Hopefully it was just a rough day.

Rumor confirmed.
The Crew Resources newsletter published today said to expect smaller classes for awhile.
They hired as fast as possible the last few months to get spooled up for summer but now the simulator schedule is the bottleneck.
Not enough sims.
The two new 737 simulators should help some.

Are the new 737 sims already online? Or coming soon?

The slowdown in hirring was planned before the big surge of 100 - 150/month started last fall. Actually, from crew resources standpoint the high throughput in q4 and q1 was a surge to cover summer flying, and they are now returning to a more normal capacity. They were actually planning on going to around 60 pilots per month, but determined they need closer to 80. I believe they said they will ramp up again in the fall.

So fear not, this is not a new development nor does it portend a demise in near term hiring.

Just to make sure that I am reading this right: You guys are putting your volunteer work under your employment history on airlineapps?

and in your resumes also, I presume??

My info is second hand and dated. Maybe there's somebody currently in training over at the schoolhouse lurking this thread with more up to date info.

I think the new sims are assembled and installed and undergoing testing and FAA certification right now. I don't know a start date when they can run the first students through.

I heard they are sweet. New fangled High Def video and silky smooth electric motion instead of hydraulic.

All that won't matter to me. I'll still prang the landings.

I put some under "Education Achievements" and some under "Employment Achievements". Kinda depending on when I did them, or where they fit best. None of it on my resume.

Default Do Letters of Rec have to be from Delta.com?

Got a captain who's writing a letter for me. I'd heard in the past these need to come from his Delta.com address. Is that still true? Was it ever true? Anyone know the truth?

There are two ways for him to write the letter one is for you to forward to him (to his delta.com email) through the air apps template, your request...I don't know how you do this.

There is another way in DBMS for him to write you a letter. It is located under the pilot selection tab...IMO, this way is more effective.
