Volunteer info
Is there a place on the airlineapps application to put volunteer information. I've seen a lot of people post about it and have heard from Delta folks that the company values it. Just can't figure out where to list it. BMD

There isn't a specific place on Airline Apps to list it. I tell my clients to list volunteer work under EMPLOYMENT - MISC, Achievements and Awards.

You do not have to bring a resume or a cover letter to the interview. Just bring what is requested on the interview checklist. My lowest time military client had 1543 hours. The lowest civilian client had 2102 hours. The highest time client was a former World Airways pilot with 18K plus hours. Delta doesn't focus on your flight time, they focus on the overall total package.
They know you can fly an airplane, they are trying to figure out who you are as a person. I came up with a saying "You can train a pilot to fly an airplane, you cannot train their attitude." Prove to Delta why you belong and how you match their corporate culture.
If you ever have a question send us a PM or email. Good luck.

When you've compiled your list of required documents to bring, how many "COPIES" are you expected to bring? I understand to not staple or bind any of the documents, but have people done anything to make them more "presentable?"
The instructions say that no witness is necessary, but do they want us to have the NDR request document notarized?
Thanks....ApachePhil

You are only required to bring one set of copies but I advise my clients to bring two copies in separate document holders in case something should happen. For the NDR, it does not have to be notarized.
I cannot stress this enough. Your paperwork is a representation of who you are as a professional pilot. Make it look outstanding. Your job as an applicant is to make the recruiters job as simple as possible. Poor paperwork sets a bad tone in the beginning.

Like all pilots do, and being one fortunate enough to be given an opportunity to interview with Delta in the near future, I know that I am probably reading too much into the instructions.

You don't need to present an NDR. They will have you sign a paper authorizing THEM to order an NDR on you.
I did make a back up copy of everything JUST in case, but never ended up using it.
If you're military, I brought my original FEF and checked out my flying records from the HARM office. The interviewer did look through them for what it's worth.
One piece of info I never saw on these boards, I presented my original passport at first, but was told it wasn't needed when I turned in my paperwork. It isn't. Turns out they use it on the SECOND day when they take your picture for your ID. So don't leave it in your hotel room like I almost did, thinking it wasn't necessary! 😄

ApachePhil, having just turned in my paperwork two days ago, I can you tell you first hand that it doesn't matter how you present your paperwork. Don't hear me to say, coffee spills and torn pages are ok. I'm saying I brought the required items on the checklist in a plain blue folder and sorted them together via paper clip. The very nice lady at the desk takes everything from you, then puts it in a Delta folder. So, any time and effort you put into a presentation is quickly destroyed the moment you walk up to the counter.
