Wait a minute...... You mean the invite others with lower times and qualifications based on race or gender?????? I thought they and all the airlines hired the most qualified applicants? Wow who would have thought?

Regional guys that have gotten the call - white male 6-7k hrs. Minority groups get a call with 4-5k. I am not trying to use the discrimination card here, but just stating facts. There are variables here, but this is the average. AK even stated of the ones they hired in 2014 17% fit the minority bracket. They have to hire a certain number of minorities to keep gov attention off of them.
Remember the above info is just averages. If you have other great stuff on your record you may get pulled with much less. Also, AK stated education is important to DAL when picking an applicant. They want to see:
GOOD GPA - 2.5 min 3.0 preferred,
Well known university,
He said college in 5 years or less, but also stated they are seeing many that have taken longer.
Also, AK stated "the minimum for recency of experience needs to be 100 hrs in the last year. This is to help the military guys that don't fly much."
One guy asked AK "what is the preferred amount of hours in the last year for civ only regional guys?" AK stated "preferred 400-500 hours in the last year knowing the number of legs they typically do a day". That guy that asked the question stated he only got 300 hrs the last year due to being on reserve, but was dead heading a lot and couldn't control his schedule. AK said "300 hrs would be fine", but that seemed contrary to his initial statement.

GPA he said wasn't a deal breaker....he said it's more of a well rounded thing where they take into consideration the school and curriculum. He also said GPA was not an all or nothing deal breaker.

Interesting because my minority friend was completely shut down with 2,050 mil hours... The recruiter also knew nothing about the military and wasn't sure what the reserves was...

You are correct, but he - AK - did say that if they see you had a 2.3 then it better be in something like astrophysics or something that is very difficult. The GPA's realm I listed above came right off the slides he provided. His exact words were "education is very important to Delta in selection of an applicant." All I want to do is just state the information as its given. There is no doubt that there are exceptions to the rule, but the exception is for a small group of individuals.

Naturally, one is often lower than the other, either just the wheels up-wheels down time or with the sortie conversion.
And it seems an emerging trend amongst recruiters(doesn't matter WHICH airline) is that they aren't fully aware of the state of industry at times.
I have 8-9-10 year RJ CA friends. They OFTEN get asked why they aren't LCA's yet at 8-9-10 years. What the recruiters AREN'T aware of is that those CAs are junior at that longevity, yet took the FIRST uograde available.
Not all, but many don't make it a practice to have junior/reserve CA's be LCA's.
See if they can bump up their score.

Kind of bummer though that it can't ALWAYS be explained/defined in just the stand alone application.
Usually have to have face to face/speed dating like (job fair) encounters to articulate such things. As well as in the interview, if it can be obtained.
