If that's where you'd prefer to stay, I'd pay it, write it off (subject to your tax situation) and don't look back. Trying to save the cost of a dinner at Applebee's for one of if not the biggest job interviews of your life for a multimillion dollar career is just silly.

Thanks for your help everyone. I ended up getting a reservation at the Courtyard Marriot that is a few hundred yards north of the Hilton. They did 79 a night. I don't want to bother with a cab/shuttle so I went with this option.
For those of you wondering about the legality of the Delta rate, I asked them if they had a Delta Interviewee rate, and they said no, but if you can show the front Desk your Delta Interview letter at check in, they can give you the Delta rate.
Hope this helps someone out.

Other options that are walking distance to the interview (and have shuttles) with the Delta rate are the Marriott Fairfield, Drury, Crowne Plaza, and the Double Tree.

I've noticed that a lot of military guys (and gals) list the number of hours as an IP they have when folks ask for their qualifications.
Would it be prudent for a civilian check airman to list the number of hours doing IOE somewhere on the application? Technically it's not instructor time, so I won't list it with my flight instructor time but would it be advisable to list it under the professional achievements section?
Just wonderin'.

There are tons of hotels to choose from for the interview. You don't have to stay at the Hilton for over $100 a night. Staybridge, Crown Plaza, Double Tree, Holiday Inn and a host of others will take you 5 more minutes than the Hilton does or just use their shuttle service.
