It seems as though the common theme here is to wait to submit your app and internal recs until your app is "pristine".

I just separated from the military a couple of months ago, picked up a 121 job flying MD-11's, and just started IOE. Would you all recommend submitting my app now or wait until I have a few hours of 121 experience in the MD-11 so that when my app is graded I will receive a higher score?

Thanks!

You didn't say what your quals are so its a little hard to answer your question. By "Pristine"' I believe all are saying your app needs to have all boxes checked, no gaps in education/work history, no spelling errors, etc. good luck to you.

With an LOR, what quals (hours) roughly will get your app scored high enough for an interview as of now with a civilian 121 guy? 4 yr degree 3.0+..

And for it to get manually scored in that 30-day window, you need your rec to submit the same airlineapps LOR to the internal address as well?

Hiring is full steam ahead!!! I think the LAX 717 rumor is true at least from what crew resources hinted at yesterday.
What did crew resources put out yesterday? Can't find anything new on the Net.

Thanks,

Lavservice may have started class recently where the Crew Resources people came in to talk to the noobs during indoc. Hope that rumor is true!

Thanks man! Here's what I'm currently working with...

Military & 121 MD-11 FO
1 Internal Capt and 3 Internal FO Recommendations
1900 Total Time (w/out sortie conversion factor)
1450 Turbine PIC (w/out sortie conversion factor)
AETC IP (FAIP)
MWS Aircraft Commander
6 Type Ratings (Two civilian types in the last year, not that it probably means much?)
SUPT Distinguished Graduate
Bachelors in Aerospace Engineering with Cum Laude Honors
3.43 GPA
Heavy college involvement with Honors Societies, Community Service, Flying Team, and the Water Ski Team.

I know my Total Time is low and I'm prepared to camp out in the MD-11 for awhile, but I'm hoping my education and turbine PIC make up for the lack of Total Time?

I'm happy where I'm at right now and have a job that requires no commute and come's with a lot of time off for me to spend at home with my 2.5 year old son while my wife is back in school, but at the same time seniority is everything and who wouldn't love to get the call from Delta. I just want to make sure when I press submit and my internal recs send their recommendation I'm putting my best foot forward.

Cheers!

At indoc, we were told an LOR type document is not necessary for internal. On the 6 friends that got the invite I just typed 2-3 simple sentences in the email and attached their latest resume. We were told the email alone would guarantee that the record was scored. We were also told the airline apps LORs don't get read until pulled for an interview. I've read contradictory info here so not sure what is really the process. I guess that your app may get points for having an LOR on file from a delta pilot but it's content may not matter until interview. Again I am just guessing here.

I always review all my internal recs resumes and delta application before sending email to hiring team. Wait time from sending to invite has been across the spectrum from 1-day to over 2-3 months. Most recent in Jan took less than a week. Good luck to all.
