Delta Hiring News

Considering that the last time we hired was in 2010, I'd say you got the latest one.

People on this forum talk like going to Delta Air Lines is as easy as submitting an app and having a rec.
Delta is hands down the top choice of nearly every aviator, even some of those at United, SWA and AA/LCC would love to make the jump.
Getting an interview there over the next 3-4 years will take an act of congress. ie: 1000 pic jet, 4 year degree, clean record, 2 or less failed checkrides + DAL internship or Upper management rec or family that is a Delta pilot.
I predict it will be 3-5 years before the average Joes could get an interview with competetive quals stated above and having a regular DAL line pilot rec. No Delta pilot rec at all, I predict 6+ years before you would hear...
Sorry to burst anyone's bubble, just want to put things into perspective. Obviously apply and network just don't want people holding their breath.
Good luck to everyone!

5000 TT
2000 TPIC (CRJ captain)
non-check airman
4-year degree
no failed check rides
no internship or anything of the sort
no relatives at DL
plenty of speeding tickets
2 recommendations from retired non-mgmt pilots
I was hired early in the 07/08 wave. I'm a white male, and all 10 that I interviewed with were the same.
The sky isn't as dark as you think.

Just an observation, but most of the very few Comair pilots hired at Delta in the 2000s were either chief pilots, females or minorities.
