That's pretty funny, right there. For the interview, they'd probably need to heat the room up to about 85, except for a small stream of frigid air pointed right at your left eye. For the cog, the mouse shouldn't work, and the computer should do a hard shutdown, and come back to life after the light switch was cycled. Anyone who could do this four times on day one would get a CJO, and a DC-9 type rating.

We hear lots of things. Delta is a long ways from having to even look for people. There are so many, me included, trying to do anything to just get an interview. The only way they would be taking someone like that on is if he was best buds with everyone in hr and hiring. Even then he would be hard pressed to still get an invite.

The company must offer positions to existing pilots (post as a vacancy on AE) before a single new-hire can be placed into that position.
By having all these unfilled vacancies, the company gets flexibility to place new hires where there are openings in the training pipeline, as well as to backfill existing-pilot-movement and right-size staffing.

Guess he failed the test.... he got a 717
Mike,
That was a test by Delta to see if you are cut out to fly the maddog. Sounds like a typical overnight

For a different perspective, I stayed at the Hilton and had one of the worst nights of sleep ever, I won't stay there again. I paid extra for the executive level and they put me in a room next to the maid's rest/supply area. The maid door was in dire need of lubrication, and apparently they shift change between 2 and 3 am. The door must have opened and closed 40 times during that hour, each one loud enough for me to hear in the room next door. First it woke me, then it kept me up on the most important night of my life. I interviewed on about 3 hours sleep.
The Holiday Inn just down the street is every bit as nice and costs less, although the nice 5 minute walk is now 15 minutes. Risk there though is higher chance of drunks wandering the halls screaming at 2am instead of the squeaky door :/.

From what I see, it isn't all about times. The people I know that have been hired (regional people), here is the commonality:
-Big aviation school (UND, ERAU, MTSU, etc)
-3.5GPA or better
-Volunteer work while in college
-More than 7yrs at a regional
-Something that stands you out at your regional. There has been from my airline 2CPs, 2LCAs, 3 Instructors, and two ALPA committee chairmen. (A couple had 2 or more of these attributes)
-Out of those, 4 have been women and 7 have been men.
-Times varied...most have 2000+hrs PIC and one of my friends recently got the CJO with zero PIC but he was a Maint check pilot as an FO after 7yrs of line flying plus met all items above.
Those are the only things I can find in common with people that have gotten the interview. As far as I know, no civilian pilot has gotten the interview just by PIC time and being JUST a line pilot.
