Maybe because he spent 20 years serving his country which probably included frequent deployments. So, he wants to take a few months off to see his family? I HIGHLY doubt they are punishing him for it. I'd bet they would prefer to interview him closer to his availability so they can interview those people able to start class sooner.

I knew ssp wasn't flow. I could have worded my question a little better. Since ssp requires one to be a captain, there will be a time where they will have interviewed all captains. The fo's will have to wait till they are captains to get the SSP interview offer.
I guess my question is: at the rate they are going through ssp, how long will it be that they have interviewed all eligible captains?

Clarifications.....
Buzz/ExAF- milky & waldo answered correctly for my case.
Retirement date is 01 December 2014
My available date was 22 July 2014 (~130 days)
Carried over 75 days last year will earn 30 additional this year plus 5 more before retirement. Plus 20 days HH and Job Hunting used at appropriate time. (~130 days) (never open yourself up to Public math)
Now just counting the days to sell it back..$$$$

My Total PIC is my PIC (USN "A" time) plus IP or for me 3700 TPIC by Airline Apps format.
