Delta Hiring News

The EtD is proof that management cares solely about costs, the only reason they hire the best is because they cost less.
The university I went to has had tuition jump over 800% since I graduated. There is no way I would recommend a pilot go to college at these prices. The fact that Delta or any airline requires a degree on top of the flight training expense is ridiculous.

Tuition cost increases can be laid at the feet of government guaranteed student loans. Colleges and universities KNOW that they will be paid whatever they charge.
The EtD is all about control of the dwindling supply of pilots.

And then said bribed pilot bails for somewhere else before he/she ever "tD's" in the first place. Meanwhile we ignite a civil war at a pathetic operation already in a morale meltdown with high attrition.

EtD, sounds like a model of StarWars droid that's missing something.

So much is wrong with this statement. Unless you're on the hiring board, I don't think you know for a fact what GPA the airline is looking for. Also, we are at the beginning of the hiring wave, and several people who don't match your stated criteria of military, etc. have been hired. Your post sounds like sour grapes.

I'm really not sour just waiting my turn for an interview. I have a 3.3 GPA and am a sim instructor for a 121 operation with over 6,000 hours and 8 years as a captain with 4000 TPIC time, 4 LOR's, I know the chief pilot and met the VP of flight ops but can't seem to crack the code to getting an interview. I have two friends that just got hired with similar backgrounds but their GPA is 3.9 and 3.7 so that is why I think their is so much weight to GPA.

My point is that DAL has 8,000 applications and I would say that half of them all look the same. So if your not in the military, a checkairman, have some sort of connection or a minority then the only thing that DAL can look at to set you apart from the crowd is your GPA. I do know for a fact that the lowest GPA they will hire is a 2.5 but since they are only interviewing the top 10% right now they can choose all the apps that are 3.6 or higher.
