On the other hand, you could tell the Captain that you have to use the lav immediately and for him/her to make PA.

I respectfully disagree, 10. Honesty trumps Captains Authority, especially if it's in the FOM. Delta would rather pay for a few hotel rooms than get caught in a "white lie"..especially in an interview. Just like the "Captain wants to take a bottle of wine left over in the galley" question. I think they ask the question several times just to see if you change your answer under pressure. Remember,, the only 2 things that DL will fire you for is lying, stealing and willful disregard...JMHO for those reading this thread who may have an interview coming up.

But I do agree attitude is everything, especially when answering the confrontational questions.

I'm with you on this and I think my answer may have hosed my interview. It was the first hypothetical scenario they presented to me and I was wrestling with respect the captain vs always be honest even in a small white lie. Instead of being adamant about being honest I played the middle of the road saying I prefer the honesty route but respect the captain's wish. I cracked under pressure and it probably cost me the CJO. Good learning experience and I know better for round two next year.

Sorry to hear that, maybe it wasn't as bad as you think it was. Did you do a professional interview prep course? Just curious how much it is actually prepping for scenarios for like this.

I may have missed this earlier in this thread...Is Delta still interviewing 3 days per week or have they gone back to 4 days per week? Anyone have numbers from the last few days of interviews?

Starcheck, it was a pleasure to meet you. I thought all 8 of us had it nailed, but if it makes you feel better, im happy youre going to US/AA. You will likely surpass all of us who are going to DAL in relative seniority. I live 25 minutes from PHL, its my hometown airline, youre going to be very happy there regardless of the apparent mess theyre in now with integration. DAL already knows that AA will be the airline to beat in 5 to 10 years (they are telling new hires this). Congratulations!

yes 3 days per week. They are talking about increasing that according to what they told us, but as of right now, still 3.

btw, 6 of 7 conditionally hired on 14 May (the 8th slot was not a no-show, they just couldn't get anyone to fill that slot in time since this weeks interviews were added late on the schedule)

I interviewed at DL a few years ago and they asked me one of these BS hypothetical questions. Had to do with a FA who wanted a PAX taken off the plane and I said if the FA wants the pax off the plane then they get off the plane. To me these are crap questions because you never have all the deets. I think they want someone who will do what the Capt wants with no questions asked, but what do I know, I didnt get hired!

You didn't get the point of the questions. They want to watch you work the problem, "expand your team," and use good deduction skills to find the best course of action while respecting your coworkers.

They give you a somewhat vague question intentionally to watch how you methodically build the picture and work the problem (be a captain).... or do what you did. I'll give you one guess as to what direction scores higher.
