Delta Hiring News

Here is the scenario...regional FO with no upgrade in sight. Goal is delta. Do I leave the regional to get some valuable airbus time at spirit or virgin or do I stay put? I am concerned delta will see I have only been at the LCC for a short time (say a year or so) and may have lots of questions about why I'm leaving the carrier after such a short time. (Or worse won't want to interview me at all) How important is company loyalty? Thoughts?

They are very close to 600 if not past 600. Long since past my seniority that I would have been which was the upper 400 range. My newhire classmate just came back from medical leave and was immediately given an interview slot in a few weeks. (he's coming your way, AeroCrewSolut!)

I left a regional and went to JetBlue. Was there 5 months when Delta called me for an interview and resigned JetBlue to come to Delta 8 months after I was hired there. I would not worry about Delta not hiring you if you are at one of the LCC's. I actually believe it helped me get hired sooner, but I had 1500 TPIC as an RJ captain when I left for JetBlue. Not sure if they will hire guys with no TPIC for awhile. That is what I would worry about. Right now the LCC's love high time regional FO's with no TPIC because they know they most likely will not be able to leave for a legacy.

Not a hard question to answer. All you have to say is you are trying to better yourself in this world. You would rather work at Jetblue than a regional because it is not a contract carrier. You would rather work at Delta than Jetblue because it is your dream job. If Delta would have given you an interview at the same time Jetblue did, you would have came to Delta.

Perhaps the clincher was the response to "what will you do if Delta does not hire you?" I answered, "well, I'm not going to let my wife wear that Fly Delta Jets t-shirt to bed anymore."
