(Or worse won't want to interview me at all) How important is company loyalty? Thoughts?
There are certainly a few regionals that are being bled dry of upper seniority. Those are probably your rapid upgrade places. Concentrate on getting to one of those.

I was told at a job fair by a DAL recruiter that they saw nothing negative about going to an LCC for a short period of time. If I remember correctly, the recruiter said it could be a good thing because "If Spirit wanted to hire you, chances are we will too." And "If you made it through their training, there is a good chance you will make it through ours..."

Hey aero crew, any chance, would you happen to know where on the endeavor seniority list those pilots who interviewed were? Trying to figure out how far down the endeavor captain list the calls are reaching now.

They are very close to 600 if not past 600. Long since past my seniority that I would have been which was the upper 400 range. My newhire classmate just came back from medical leave and was immediately given an interview slot in a few weeks. (he's coming your way, AeroCrewSolut!)

I left a regional and went to JetBlue. Was there 5 months when Delta called me for an interview and resigned JetBlue to come to Delta 8 months after I was hired there. I would not worry about Delta not hiring you if you are at one of the LCC's. I actually believe it helped me get hired sooner, but I had 1500 TPIC as an RJ captain when I left for JetBlue. Not sure if they will hire guys with no TPIC for awhile. That is what I would worry about. Right now the LCC's love high time regional FO's with no TPIC because they know they most likely will not be able to leave for a legacy.

Thanks for the response. Did they ask you about this in the interview?

Not a hard question to answer. All you have to say is you are trying to better yourself in this world. You would rather work at Jetblue than a regional because it is not a contract carrier. You would rather work at Delta than Jetblue because it is your dream job. If Delta would have given you an interview at the same time Jetblue did, you would have came to Delta.

They did in 2007 and I'd expect the question in about any interview. Back then they wanted to see a long term interest in Delta ... even my quip about having "a poster of Liz Hurley on one wall and a Delta 757 on the other ... for the same reason" generated a laugh and then, "no really, tell us when you wanted to work for Delta."

Perhaps the clincher was the response to "what will you do if Delta does not hire you?" I answered, "well, I'm not going to let my wife wear that Fly Delta Jets t-shirt to bed anymore."
