Most I know personally had there's in for past year or more. Indy wrote a good summary a month ago of some common trends of military being hired but I know both young and old military being hired. Having some sort of angle still helps at this stage though as has been discussed at length.

Well, I have plenty of flight time, all the cool stuff like Stan Eval, Safety etc, a CP rec letter, a 16 yr Cpt letter, an FO letter, two letters from commanders, even a good FAA letter from a controller and the DAL Cpt went to personnel twice and I still got no email or call for interview. App was submitted in Nov.

Very happy SWA hired me, in fact ecstatic! However, when I submitted an app for SWA I also did for several other carriers and have not received any other calls. Just wondering...that's all.

FWIW, the single DL internal Rec of mine ( an FO) said that you really only need 1 internal rec for an invite, not sure if that's true or not, or what the magic number is, but obviously more wouldn't hurt.
For those submitting external recs (both professional/personal), are you using the airlineapps.com link through the addendums page to send the request? Are the external recs even relevant or reviewed prior to receiving an interview invite?

Well, congrats...I currently work for one (very junior) and was recently hired at the other...trying to decide what I want to do. That's why I was asking...good luck to you.

Yep. I have one internal and four external recommendations - all submitted through airlineapps. I have no clue whether any of them matter for the interview. My app has been in since 2009, so perhaps I'm not a good example of what one should do to get interviewed by Delta Air Lines.

I received an invite in late November. I had about three of those "fix this" emails about a month prior. I didn't hear anything, so I emailed back to say they were fixed and I got an invite shortly thereafter…not sure if those were connected or not. Anyway, I was hired along with six others and I'm pretty psyched about the opportunity!
