I'm guessing about the same at all the leg close to say 10k maybe. Though I like the sound of 7k better than 10k.

This is completely false

I used Emerald Coast on the recommendation of a friend that was recently hired by DAL. They were great. I did not have time to go to a seminar but I did a mock phone interview and it gave me a lot of confidence and taught me a lot about organizing my thoughts and stories. Also their online prep content was great. During the interview I was sitting there thinking how glad I was that I had done the prep. I was even more glad at the end of the day when I got the good news! It was 375 well spent when looking at the next 25 years.

Since this sort of thing is what drives hiring ... here's the 2 December Advanced Entitlement posting of openings:

Format:
City Aircraft A(Captain) Openings

DTW 73N A 7

ATL 320 A 20
DTW 320 A 15
MSP 320 A 3
NYC 320 A 5
SLC 320 A 2

ATL 320 B 15

ATL M88 A 30
NYC M88 A 5

ATL M88 B 40
NYC M88 B 20

Of course, these things do not happen independent of staffing on other jets. As FO's upgrade it makes more FO openings. We expect continued movement to the 737 fleet and consider it likely that 757/767 pilots will be backfilled until the summer of 2014. More 717 pilots will be added in the spring after the current IOE backlog is caught up. After peak summer flying they probably will not continue to backfill the 757/767/ER (category described this way for the non Delta folks).

It's the # of vacant positions that need to be filled. A = Captain and B = FO. Any FO positions not bid by current pilots will be filled with new hires.
