Delta Hiring News

It's not about "conning" anyone. Rule #1 at interview prep is be honest. Con-men aren't honest and lie, there's a difference. Preparing for an interview is about fine tuning communication skills so you don't inadvertently send off bad vibes or send the wrong message either verbally or non-verbally.

I used this guy back in 2006. Got hired at JetBlue then Delta. It was possibly the best $$$ I have ever spent in my life. I am fairly certain if I hadn't done this prep I would have blown both interviews.

Judy Tarver did a great job prepping me for my SWA interview (which I shacked )
It translated extremely well to the Delta interview.

Also asked on the United interview thread… If my availability changes, how long can I defer a class date?
I haven't received an interview invitation, however, I may need to take a set of orders that will commit me to military service for the next 18-24 months.
Currently a traditional guardsman and flying at a regional. Hoping to get an interview in the next 6-12 months, then transition directly to that job 6-12 months later.

You will not be able to defer for 18-24 months - not even close.
However, if you do not have orders at the time of being hired you could get hired and then drop MIL leave if and when your orders come through. This is a tricky area and I recommend being honest or you could be burning bridges you may want to cross in the future.

I lost the bet I made on getting a job at a major by leaving AD 15 months ago. Circumstances require that I go back to O-4 pay until a major calls. I'm sure the phone will ring shortly after signing the commitment, but I have to play my current hand…
Thanks for the responses...

A couple of counter points:
1) I would say close to half of your own pilots (former NWA, Republic, Western...) have also not been through your interview. I am sure if every Northwest pilot would have had to interview, the pass rate would be very similar. Most of the Delta pilots I know are not exactly current on their logbooks either. Does that make them bad pilots? If I gave them the written or cognitive test from the interview, I doubt they would do much better.

So what's the scoop on "the" prep for Delta. I've heard Emerald Coast as well as Aero Crew Solutions. Anyone in particular at these companies and what about seminars vs one on one? I feel like one on one would help me more but emerald coast recommends a seminar.

SVA: I am going to give you a biased opinion. If you are targeting Delta, I highly recommend AeroCrew Solutions. Delta pilot with a great knowledge base of the Delta culture. If you are targeting Fedex or doing a sim evaluation, Emerald Coast.
I've seen the products from both. I like what I see. Both do a great job. I personally get more from a 1-to-1 approach. Plus, since I will be interviewing at DL, I felt using a seasoned DL pilot who I have tracked for 2plus years was the right choice. Yesterday I did my prep and my decision was spot-on. Very happy with the method and product produced (I got dvd's of the session for review).
For my SWA interview years ago, I used Judy Tarver. Read my message and review my first paragraph.
The fact you plan to use a prep is the right choice. While some will complain about the costs, they really are minimal when you consider the investment return.
Golf swing coaches are expensive. The pros use them. Strength coaches are expensive. Pros use them. Career coaches, executive search firms are pricey. You get the picture.
Good luck and Happy Thanksgiving.
