Gotcha on the DPMP increase. I thought the deductibles stayed the same as last year. They are 1150/3450 now which is what the stuff says they are in 2014. In any case we never use much unless we have a major problem so I'm just going to the lowest premium/highest deductible plan we have.

I had this same email. Once I fixed it, they sent an email interview offer 3 days later.

What did you military guys take with you to the interview for the required item of "DD214 or Military Orders"? Since I'm still on active duty, will my current duty station PCS orders work? I won't have a DD214 for several months due to over 100 days of terminal.

So quick question...a guy in my squadron got "hired" last week in his interview, only to get an email today saying something came back on his psych eval that requires it to go to a board that convenes every 6-8 weeks....then they will let him know if he's still hired. Anybody have experience or knowledge in this matter?

The guy in your squadron got a "conditional job offer." "Conditional" on passing the psyche test and a background check. Sounds like he did not pass the psyche test. Prior to 2010 (or so), that would have been the end of the story. Game over. Go home. Nowadays, they send such candidates to a board and the board determines whether to ignore the psychologist and hire the person or to go with the psyche's recommendation. Guy in my squadron said two guys in his interview class went to "the board". One guy got hired, the other didn't. Good luck to your buddy.

Good luck....Delta I hear gives a lot of say to the psych eval......One of these days, maybe we'll get back to good ol fashion...can I spend 4 days with this guy on a trip type stuff.....maybe when the pipeline of astronauts, blue angles, thunderchickens, commanders dry up they'll relax the standard to the "normal" people that normally would be considered to have high qualifications both civilian and military.
That is EXACTLY what the psych eval is about.
Are you tolerable, are you a "Normal Person" or do you have issues?
It's not about qualifications, any moron can fly an airplane and a lot of them do. The Shrink is there to keep the real problem children out, and he's doing a great job. In 28 years, I can honestly say, there was only one guy I've flown with who had issues...but he might have been going through a divorce, so I bought his beer and let it go. 99.9% of the guys I fly with are great guys to fly with, hang out with, etc. So, what ever the shrink is doing, he's doing it well.

When I "put in my paperwork" (i.e. initiated my retirement action on through the web) it resulted in a special order being generated shortly afterward that stated what my retirement date was. I got it about a month after I initiated action and that was about 10 months before my actual retirement date. It wasn't a topic of discussion on interview day.
