Delta Hiring News

I didn't respond to your post to get into "it" with you. Neither you or I have control over who DAL hires. In the past, if DAL invited you for an interview, you were deemed "professionally qualified." Now, since PNCL has subverted the (invite) process, I believe that it is up to the interviewee to screw up, not the interviewer to "weed out." I believe it is illegal to interview to a different standard for different groups.
Now IF a person is invited to interview without meeting the professionally qualified standard (which neither you or I dictate), then they are a clean kill in the interview process. I just don't agree that is the case.
I JS on PNCL frequently. They are mostly regular guys. There are some outliers, no doubt. Only time will tell how the interviewing and hiring of PNCL pilots goes...Until the lawsuits begin.
In the mid 90's, some pilots, turned down for the psych eval fought it and won...Something about using the MMPI for a purpose other than what it was intended. They did not get hired at the seniority they would have had, but they did get hired.

A Captain met the Doctor at some ATL social function and asked what was the real story with the rocking chair. He replied: "I don't know how all that got started. My wife bought the chair because she thought it would look nice in the office."

After the second Captain on the trip calls in sick I've got a good idea if I'm crazy or not. Which I'm not. Its everybody else around me that keeps going crazy and glittering in the sunlight. bastards.

Q. What's the first thing a woman should do when she returns home from a wives' support group for spousal abuse?
A. The dishes if she knows what's good for her.

I really think it can. Beyond that, Delta wants to hire fit professionals who conduct themselves well and have good communication skills.
You could be an astronaut and have a perfect resume but if you walk into a Delta interview dressed like you lost a bet, are 100 pounds overweight, and can't hold a conversation it's very unlikely that you will get hired.

Looks like hiring will ramp up sooner vs later. FWIW, I spoke with the CP and 9E SSP candidates will NOT be required to have a BA and any previous 9E pilots who previously interviewed but didn't get the thumbs up: you WILL be able to participate in the SSP, so brush up on whatever held you back the first time....you're about to get a mulligan
