Full disclosure...I am a proud military dude. Not some puke fighter guy but an AFSOC guy who truly contributed to the GWOT post Sept 11. Fact.....there are more civilian dudes getting hired right now. This apparently is not because of quotas, etc rather terrible interviews. Fellas....get interview prep and quit sucking. The folks will tell you during the interview process the job is yours to loose. QUIT LOOSING IT!!! The 2010 numbers were around 60%-40% civilian to military. The days are gone where mil dudes were a preference. Quit acting entitled. Just a friendly hint from an HR friend of mine.

Now that I read my post I take a step back. I am not military-centric. I want fellas I we can spend a four day with to be hired. I want dudes who will grab a beer and laugh at the day's events to be hired. There will be a young folks in our pilot group again and that youthful energy will contribute to DAL's success.

Mil guys shouldn't go in and "wing" it. Ever since Day 1 of pilot training, heck, even back in IFT, extensive planning and preparation has been drilled in. Why would guys just go in and do an interview "off the cuff"?

The way I see it, Tom Wychor would not have negotiated a deal that destroyed pay and longevity across the express side of our profession if he did not have an exit strategy.
