How does it go? Something like "the job is yours to win or lose", since they wouldn't have you in front of them if they knew they didn't want you. Mileage may vary but it seems as if a candidate is there they do want them.

No tentative class dates yet. They will tell you during the introduction that they want to hire everyone, it is your job to lose.

The eight guys hired yesterday were all military. Impressive resumes.

Any specifics as to what is on their resumes/quals?

Flew one of them TO the ATL, a JB pilot. Talked a couple minutes in the jetway. Sharp guy, great attitude.

There are a lot of apps with guys who have both military and 121 experience. They also have post graduate degrees. Remember though, as with every hiring cycle, the top candidates go first. About a year into it, you will get a good idea of what the average new hire really is. Personally, I don't think it will be that great, as most of the cream of the crop guys left the industry or went to SWA/FedEx/UPS over the past decade.

SWA/FDX/UPS have not hired or barely hired since the last DL hiring spree. There's probably quite a few waiting in the wings, so to speak.

Yes, but Delta didn't have an attractive contract until recently.
