New nailed it. The Delta process is very objective. Age is not the criteria and best I can tell not a consideration.

Delta is VERY fair.

It has been a long time since I’ve been NYC based, but looking at their bid packages..
Depends on the aircraft (and probably schedules for a certain month?):
June’13:
737 and MD88/90 sign ins and releases in JFK and LGA.
320 – all 3, but very little EWR.
7ER – mostly JFK and some EWR.
767-400 – all JFK.
Hope this helps.

PS. Razorback – great intel, thank you!

Looks like hiring will ramp up sooner vs later. FWIW, I spoke with the CP and 9E SSP candidates will NOT be required to have a BA and any previous 9E pilots who previously interviewed but didn't get the thumbs up: you WILL be able to participate in the SSP, so brush up on whatever held you back the first time....you're about to get a mulligan

Wow. Really glad I busted my ass in college and in the military only to get lapped by a backwards-epaulet wearing RJ FO with a GED.

Bring on the barrage of entitlement insults.

I 100% agree with you BUT before you get too worked up let's see how the process plays out. The "opportunity" to interview doesn't necessarily equate to a DAL senority number.
I may be biased, but after working with such a homogenous pilot group with few outliers the DAL interview process works. The same must have been true for the North side as well because its damn hard to tell each other apart.

All they get is an interview. Hopefully the HR person and the pilot in the room will continue to apply the same standards as before. Plus, there's always that probationary period for all those who can't hack it and the attitude stricken.

... and we get to wash that down with a tall glass of ALPA facilitated savings in the cost of outsourcing Delta jobs.
