LOL someone has to work x-mass, obviously you'd be senior so you won't. Maybe sit reserve on wide body? Holy Shiny Jet Syndrome Batman! No thanks, I'll take QOL over SJS anyday. Besides Int flying is going to foreign carriers We can all spilt hairs and play, what if scenarios, yeah but I'm still right cause... for the next six pages.
My original contention was the "entitlement" comment for not applying to Delta. It was an uneducated comment. Don't judge a person till you walk a mile in their shoes, understand their values. Work to live not live to work. Especially when you're about to retire.
PS I have no interest in going to DAL to finish out the final leg of my career. But I support everyone (aka senior) that does apply

I am not a big fan of uneducated comments either. However, there have been some "entitlement" minded posters on here recently. It isn't frustrating really, but there is an element of the competitive hiring process that brings some pride to the job/company. This is probably the element "we" don't want to lose.

Nope college grad many moons ago. Like I said don't judge a person before you walk a mile in their shoes. But yes it is best for me and my family's lifestyle to stay put at this regional. I work with great people, go home happy every day. But keep guessing and judging from a keyboard.

Try viewing it this way. There's an element of pride knowing that you've worked, very hard, for 16+ years at a regional that is owned by a mainline carrier. That your hard work for those 16 years, sweating it out in a Metroliner, a Fokker, Dash 8, SAAB 340, a CRJ200/900. Helping to maintain a safety record unattained by any other regional. That your hard work that went directly to that mainline carrier's benefit, is now being rewarded. Rewarded by doing the same job with better logistical, financial support, and moral support at the mainline carrier. The guys flowing have right to feel pride for the last 16+ years that they have worked under the NWA/DAL umbrella.

Meh, airlines hire pilots who really want to work for them. You can show past history by previous applications online to the airline of choice. While you have a point about that 15 year guy above, how would you handle the question of "Do you really want to work for Delta? How come you didn't apply here in the 2010 hiring cycle? 2007 cycle? late 90s cycle?"
A friend of mine got the same question at the SWA interview. He told them he didn't want to apply until his kids were at least into the 2nd grade. He didn't want to miss the younger years. They hired him for his honesty and because he valued his family.
