It cracks me up when people come on here and tell everyone when the interviews will start. Yes it's a noble thing to do to help people out but in reality you are just creating more competition for yourself from people that don't have a clue of what to do!

If you work at 9E it doesn't matter since your competition is other 9E pilots only. The chances of you getting hired in excess of the SSP numbers is zero, since even people hired out of seniority order at 9E count towards the SSP.

I guess I'd rather help others than throw banana peels in front of them.

I am not a civilian pilot but have been through many competitive upgrades for jets, fighters, IP etc and have found that the more you are willing to help others along the way the better chances you will have in achieving want you want. I'd rather beat the competition because I am qualified and good rather than get it because someone didn't have the same info I did.

When you're ready to get out, you will do well at Delta Air Lines.

Yep!

By the goodness of someone posting on Flightinfo in December 2006, I found out that the Delta app window was opening up at 0900 (or whatever) the next morning. I got my app in within minutes of it opening up, and to my extreme surprise, I got an email a couple weeks later.

It's always appropriate to pay it forward!

I'm not saying its bad to help others, I have a good pay it forward story, when the latest usair app opened I told my good friend about it and we both applied at the same time. He is there right now and I'm here. I have also wrote many many letters of rec to help people that I know out. What I am referring to as why our pilot group at endeavor needs to be told to apply. When only 4 of the first 66 actually had an app on file, in my opinion they should be passed up if they don't have the motivation to apply when they know its coming.
That's all, ill stop thread drifting. I see your guys point of view

Wow, that's amazing. Your point is noted also.... and agreed! That lack of initiative truly shows an entitled attitude in regards to going to Delta. Not being negative by saying that, but there is really no other way to interpret it. 4 of 66! That is really jaw dropping.... are they not interested in going maybe?

That's amazing only 4 had apps on file. Remember the logjam I was saying will happen with the SSP?
