Everyone keeps talking about the eye exam, heck I am worried about the 60 question test. BFM, ACT, CAS and SAT are things I understand. Doing ICE-T airspeed conversions is what is going to kill me. Maybe they will let me incorporate CRM and ask my buddy next to me the answer or used my Delta issued IPAD. Guess I will keep on studying. What I would do for some good old gouge!

Gunshipguy I guess we all have our worries but just in different areas. Luckily there is enough gouge out there to study and good books to read. I wish though they had a MQF like the military and then selected questions out of it. That would make it easy!! Obviously we can all fly airplanes or else we wouldn't be qualified to apply for the job. It's probably more of who wants to put in the effort for the $5 million career!
I have a feeling in five years when all the airlines are hiring like gang busters that the hiring process may get relaxed with regards to test and sims. Hopefully though it doesn't take me give years to get an interview. Speaking of which, I gotta get back to studying!! Ha
Cheers.

This isn't intended as a condescending post, so take it for what it's worth. I will assume that most of the non-dal folks reading this have generally done their homework, so, I won't go into any details on the interview, etc.
Do not show up fat. If you are fat lose weight. Get in shape, whatever you need to do. The clock is ticking.
This is just my opinion, but remember, most of the interviewers have a military background. This instills an anti fat bias. They are not using it as a weed out tool, but if you show up fat, you start off in the hole. It is what it is.
Your getting hired at dal is not a birthright. If you think you are special because you have sat through thousands of hours monitoring an RJ flying on the autopilot, guess what, you aren't.
Be easy on the eyes, it will make your life better and your interview easier.

This is Delta Air Lines for god's sake, not Southwest. You have a chance to fly with the big boys. Take a little pride in your appearance.

Also, make sure you shower thoroughly and brush your teeth. Some of you guys smell like circus animals and walk around breathing through your mouth.

Well it looks like we all might have a little more time to get ourselves in shape for the medical; I heard there was a memo put out over at Pinnacle that stated that 150ish pilots took the recall which will take up all the classes for the rest of this year.
Hopefully once the off the street hiring begins it goes on for a while...

Technically I don't have to pass it... I have a SODA for depth perception. So, again, if I cannot pass the test, will I fail the interview? Or will they see the First Class Medical and SODA Waiver and consider it good?
