Delta Hiring News

It's better to think of in terms of number of bodies you need below you to hold it than years. A guy with 5 1/2 years may only have 250 pilots junior to him (or roughly 2 percent of the list.)
Currently, the plug in SLC has about 625 below him (or roughly 5% of the list.) If we hire 500 pilots in a year, you're pretty close to holding it within a year.
Also depends on if the base shrinks or grows. A number of folks have been kicked out of the western bases in the last few bids - SLC plug had roughly 400 below him prior to the last bid.

Here is what the press release states:
The 30 A321s will expand Delta's existing fleet of 126 A320-family domestic aircraft. Delta's first three A321s are scheduled for delivery in the first quarter of 2016, with 12 more due in that year. The remaining 15 jets are scheduled for 2017.

But we already know B757s are being parked. Do you, and keep in mind this is not an inflammatory question, think that they will park more 757s and 320s then the amount of 737s and 717s we are taking delivery of? We already know that they're planning on parking more then 30 B757s. But we are also accepting delivery of 100 B737-900s. And I know those pay less then a 757, but at least they're replacing the airframes.

What words did I put in your mouth? I simply asked a question.

Tell me more! Are you talking about SLC specifically? Or West Coast bases in general? This is timely, based entirely on your info, I may buy a house today.
